La pratique artistique de Jérôme Nadeau explore les limites engendrées par l’interprétation et l’attente que nous avons à l’égard des images. Intéressé à perturber leurs conventions et à redéfinir la signification habituellement acceptée de ceux-ci, son travail propose une réflexion sur le statut de l’image par rapport à sa matérialité et aux qualités inhérentes situées à l’intersection des médiums. Son utilisation de la photographie examine les nombreux processus de production laissés généralement invisibles laissant ainsi place à une exploration de la sensibilité du médium photographique au-delà de son usage prédéterminé.

Jérôme Nadeau complète présentement une maîtrise en Beaux-Arts à l’Université Concordia. Son travail à été présenté dans le cadre d’expositions solo et de groupe notamment à la Galerie Leonard & Bina Ellen (Montréal, 2016), Battat Contemporary (Montréal 2016), Parisian Laundry (Montréal, 2016), TYPOLOGY (Toronto, 2016) et la Galleri Monitor (Gothenburg, Suède, 2014). Il est le récipiendaire du Mildred Lande and Margot Lande Fellowship in Photography (2013) et du Roloff Beny Fellowship in Photography (2015). Jérôme est le fondateur de soon.tw, une plateforme de publication dédiée à la production de livres d’artiste. Il est également le co-directeur de la Galerie Éphémère, un projet nomade ayant comme objectif de promouvoir le travail d’artistes émergeants dans des conditions atypiques.


Jérôme Nadeau's artistic practice explores the limits created by our interpretation and expectations of images. Interested in disrupting conventions and redefining their commonly accepted meanings, his work reflects on the status of images in relation to their materiality and the inherent qualities found at the intersection of media. His use of photography examines the many production processes that are usually left invisible, allowing for an exploration of the sensitivity of the photographic medium beyond its predetermined use.

Jérôme Nadeau is currently completing a Master of Fine Arts at Concordia University. His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions at the Leonard & Bina Ellen Gallery (Montreal, 2016), Battat Contemporary (Montreal, 2016), Parisian Laundry (Montreal, 2016), and Galleri Monitor (Gothenburg, Sweden, 2014). He is the recipient of the Mildred Lande and Margot Lande Fellowship in Photography (2013) and the Roloff Beny Fellowship in Photography (2015). Jérôme is the founder of soon.tw, a publishing platform dedicated to the production of artist books. He is also the co-director of Galerie Éphémère, a nomadic project that aims to promote the work of emerging artists in atypical conditions.
