Candice Lin, P. Staff et Thao Nguyen Phan présentent des œuvres qui sondent les concepts de pollution et de toxicité. Les artistes y relatent les destins croisés des êtres humains et non humains, des sphères matérielle et spirituelle, du vivant et du non-vivant. STRESSED HERMS, SWEAT & PERIOD GAS
Candice Lin (née à Concord, aux États-Unis ; vit à Los Angeles, aux États-Unis) explore les cultures et les histoires inscrites dans les objets et les matériaux reliés au commerce colonial, aux pratiques de guérison alternatives et aux fonctions corporelles. Ses œuvres exposent notamment l’héritage colonialiste et raciste de la virologie et du travail contractuel et prennent la forme d’installations sculpturales multisensorielles.
P. Staff (né·e à Bognor Regis, au Royaume-Uni ; vit à Los Angeles, aux États-Unis, et à Londres, au Royaume-Uni) interroge la présence invasive des notions de discipline, de violence et de travail dans la définition des identités trans*, non binaires et queers. Ses projets, fréquemment collaboratifs, combinent performance, installation et vidéo.

Staff, and Thao Nguyen Phan present works that navigate ideas of pollution and toxicity. The artists trace fates shared by humans and nonhumans, the material and the spiritual, the living and the nonliving. Different and yet related, Phan’s and Lin and Staff’s works expose contamination in varying forms, as agents that affect human bodies, land, and water in connected ways, both material and immaterial.Exhibition presented by MOMENTA Biennale de l’image and produced in partnership with Occurrence
Candice Lin (born in Concord, United States; lives in Los Angeles, United States) investigates the cultures and histories embedded in objects and materials related to colonial trade, alternative healing practices, and bodily functions. Frequently exposing legacies of colonization and the racialized histories of virology and indentured labor, her works take the form of multi-sensory sculptural installations.
P. Staff (born in Bognor Regis, United Kingdom; lives in Los Angeles, United States, and in London, United Kingdom) explores the invasive presence of discipline, violence, and work in the definition of trans*, non-binary, and queer identities. Their projects, often collaborative, combine performance, installation, and video.
